Our 2017 Ambassadors

  Alexandra Capecci-Moore is a certified 200 hour RYT who received her training under Amy Ippoliti in Boulder CO. She has taken her passion for yoga and philosophy off the mat and into the real world as a human, animal, and environmental rights’ activist. She is a passionate Reiki master and certified crystal healer who believes in the integration of mind, body, and spirit to lead a wholesome and purposeful life. She is currently studying to become a doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. Her yoga style incorporates lots of breath-work techniques and Kundalini kriyas, and typically incorporates a gentle but invigorating alignment-based Hatha flow.

  Amy Gagner is an E-500-RYT, a senior teacher at Lotus House of Yoga Lincoln and recently opened a home studio called “The Road to Om”. As a Wise Earth School of Ayurveda student and practitioner, Amy’s classes tend to reflect the bigger picture of cosmic play; the flow of seasons, our relationship with the elements and the cycles of the moon. With attention to alignment and bits of yogic wisdom woven into each of her classes, practicing with Amy is sure to leave you fulfilled, balanced and ready to shine your light with the people in your life. Amy is a native of Lincoln, NE, a wife and mom of two teenagers.

  Bridget Ryan is a yoga teacher, massage educator and Massage therapist. She lives in the ❤️ of the mid-west, Des Moines, Iowa, teaching and raising her wildly-adventurous son #LHR. Her caring approach is sensible and intelligent. She enjoys connecting to the students both on the yoga mat and at the massage table. Her mission is to inspire people to live healthy happy lives and eat as many avocados as possible!

D’Anne Rudden is going to find it! As an E-RYT 200, 300 hr. Jivamukti yoga teacher and Doctor of Audiology, she incorporates the power of sound and vibration to help people find their connection between deep self-awareness and spiritual, social and entrepreneurial activism. D’Anne is sought after public speaker and thought leader, teaching to professional organizations, business leaders and working as a Global Hearing Ambassador for the Starkey Hearing Foundation. She is currently completing her RYT-500 with Alanna Kaivalya and contributes to local teacher trainings and workshops.

  David McConaghay ​is an Ayurvedic Practitioner and Vedic Astrologer based in Boulder, Colorado.​ A former Division 1 athlete, David discovered Yoga as a means to bring ease to an overburdened body. His journey into Ayurveda began in the garden and kitchen of the Sivananda Yoga Farm in Grass Valley, California. This is also where David first met his Jyotish teacher, Sam Geppi. After eight years of study and practice, David brings his expansive knowledge, playful spirit and precise language to conversations with clients, peers and students alike. His work and play is collected at​​.

  Denelle Numis composes an authentic experience on the mat where each student can immediately connect with the rhythm of their body and their breath. She infuses her classes with eclectic music and inspiring peak postures. Even though her classes may be challenging, Denelle’s vibrant and gregarious personality motivates her students to stay playful in their practice. As an integral member of the Hanuman Festival team in its inception, Denelle is proud to be an ambassador for Hanuman Festival in 2017. Denelle is also the founder & head teacher of Après Yoga and teaches alignment-based vinyasa yoga in Denver, CO.

   Elizabeth Venrick began practicing yoga in college. In 2014 she received her 200-RYT through Lotus House of Yoga after being encouraged to do so from her friend, Mary Clare Sweet. Currently, she is the head of yoga for GreatLIFE Malaska Golf & Fitness and oversees four studios in and around Sioux Falls.
As an avid runner and marathoner, Elizabeth does bring an athletic side to her teaching but also emphasizes the breath, slowing things down and really feeling each posture. While she loves a good flow class, she could do yin yoga all day long!
Elizabeth believes that everyone can, and should do some sort of yoga and that yoga makes the world a better place. For Elizabeth, yoga is constantly a work in progress, both on and off the mat.

  Gretchen Kontz is a dedicated, fiery 500-hour yoga teacher bringing yoga to all practicioners. She believes yoga is a lifelong companion allowing us to seek and peel away the layers of our true self to live our lives with clear intention. When Gretchen is not on her mat, she spends time with her daughters, makes malas and enjoys all the wonderful things Colorado life has to offer. You can find her at studios around Fort Collins, CO.
  Heather Munro is a Mind-Body Mentor for women who are ready to THRIVE. As a speaker, writer, Mind-Body Nutrition practitioner for Smart Pressed Juice and Whole Self Health advocate, she helps facilitate deep and lasting transformation through one on one conversation, guided movement and mindfulness, unique nourishment enhancements, and distinct diagnostics on the 7 aspects of you.

She specializes in helping women step out of the overwhelm in their lives and step into living life filled with vibrancy and ease.
  Jackie Paulson teaches yoga, is an licensed mental health counselor, energy work and owner of {be}Studio in Sioux City, IA. She blends these passions into one deeply held intention: to empower kinetic and energetic experiences increasing the awareness and meaningfulness in individuals and communities. To be authentic and vulnerable in creating and holding space for the creative and sacred force to awaken within others is her greatest dharma. Healing work can come in a variety of forms and her eclectic experience in both eastern and western therapies offers a wide and whole perspective to this path. In practicing with Jackie, expect to experience a vinyasa style practice rooted in the arms of Tantra, the inspiration that fuels her teaching includes philosophy, myth, psychology and subtle body practices.   Julie Jonuska is an E-RYT 500, and has been teaching yoga in Colorado Springs for six years. What initially prompted her to teach yoga was a corporate downsize, a relocation and desire to do something she truly loved. In mid-2017 she will complete her 800 hr training as a Certified Yoga Therapist, through Inner Peace Yoga Therapy. In her spare time, she loves to read, spend time with family and friends (including her 3 cats), listen to music and explore the outdoors. She loves to travel, experience new cultures and share her love of yoga. During the summers of 2013 and 2014, she was blessed with the opportunity to teach yoga to children who live in an orphanage in South Africa. She hopes someday to be able to return. Julie received her B.A. from Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana and completed graduate studies at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington.
  Justina McConnell is a 500-RYT, running coach, and athlete. She has been teaching yoga at Lotus House of Yoga in Lincoln, NE and coaching athletes for the last 10 years. She prides herself on finding safe, effective, and entertaining ways to train her students both physically and mentally for marathons as well as keeping all her yogis/runners safe and injury free. Her classes are consistently fueled by music, positive vibes, and humor. She truly is the sweetest, most badass hippie in the Midwest.

  Kristina Reese is a yogi, teacher, designer and smile spread-er based in Champaign-Urbana, IL. She has a passion for empowering people to accept themselves, cultivate their creativity and connect with their own inner teacher. Kristina shares yoga, meditation and energy healing with all who are willing—athletes, children, first-timers, aging yogis and more—through group classes, workshops, festivals and social media. Words that guide her practice and life—confidence and peace. Confidence that comes from honoring the past and overcoming new challenges, and peace as we accept and love ourselves exactly as we are in this moment.

  Laura Zeigler is a certified yoga instructor who enjoys teaching yoga to kids and adults as a tool for physical, mental and emotional health. She earned her BA at Naropa University, where she studied Contemplative Education which combines academics with intuition, integrating the whole person through experience and contemplation. Laura believes in employing multiple forms, allowing students to discover their own inner teacher. In 2014 she earned her L1 AcroYoga teaching certificate because she loves to see what happens when we practice in relationship.

  Leslie Glenn's passion for yoga and life is contagious. Eighteen years ago, as an impressionable freshman at the University of Vermont, snowboarding led her to yoga. Yoga not only improved her athletic prowess but brought clarity and presence to all parts of her life. As she headed west to Breckenridge, CO her practice grew. Yoga became her anchor - providing balance, connection, radiance as she traveled to snowboard competitions around the world. These experiences shaped her journey and heartened her to strive towards the full potentiality of life, to follow her dreams, to revel in moments of everyday magic, to teach yoga. As a teacher, she blends alignment, breath, creative sequencing and intention steeped in the traditions of Tantra Hatha Yoga to inspire courage, grace, and freedom for students. She is thrilled to connect with two of her favorite teachers at Hanuman Festival again this year, Rod Stryker and Annie Carpenter.

  Lizzie Mensinger is a 21-year-old yoga teacher who feels incredibly lucky to have found yoga and made it an integral part of her life at such a young age. She began practicing yoga with the encouragement of a family member when she was 16 . . . and she never looked back. Being a part of the Vibe Tribe at Lotus House of Yoga has given her strength and joy in both her yoga practice and life as a friend, daughter, student and as a person. Lizzie's classes are infused with love and light. She wishes that every student who finds their way into her classes feels the joy and wholeness that yoga has brought into her own life. Lizzie encourages each student to smile, love, to take their yoga off the mat, and to find hints of joy even in the most difficult places.

  Nikki Rogers is a dedicated teacher in the Boulder, CO area. She teaches public yoga classes, private lessons and leads annual yoga retreats to Mexico. Nikki is a 500 hour RYT, and she focuses mainly on Integrative Vinyasa and Yin Yoga styles of Yoga. Her background also includes Ashtanga, Hot Yoga and Pilates, and she is currently working on an Ayurvedic Yoga Health coaching certification. She teaches her classes with a light-hearted, honest and fun approach, with strong attention on alignment, breath and focus.   Shannon Hoffer is a yogi, a critical care nurse, and a new mommy. She is super excited to be an Ambassador for the 2017 Hanuman Festival! Shannon teaches Vinyasa Flow and workshops in Wichita, KS. Her classes are soulful with a pinch of alignment and a dab of pranayama. She began her yoga journey in 2004 in Kansas City and completed her YTT in Costa Rica. Shannon is a lover of travel, nature, culinary experiences, and wine! As a new mommy her relationship with the mat has changed from a strong powerful flow to one of healing, observation, and deep breath. Yoga is a lifelong friend to her, helping to shed unserving layers and to bring her closer to Self. Shannon is looking forward to connecting with Festival goers and to make some new hOMies!
  Sophie Miller began her journey on the mat in 2008 in Madison, Wisconsin, and has been nothing short of headstand-over-heels in love since. She moved to Boulder, Colorado in 2011 to expand her practice, shift her perspective, and pursue an undergraduate education in Business and Socially Responsible Enterprise at CU. In 2013, she became a Yoga Alliance certified teacher, and remains a constant student. Sophie wholeheartedly believes in the inimitable, transformative physical, spiritual, and emotional benefits that yoga is capable of providing, and is passionate about making yoga accessible to everybody and for every body.

Outside of the studio, Sophie humbly and enthusiastically serves the Give Back Yoga Foundation. She can be found running local trails, skiing, and spending time with family and friends. On and off the mat, she is constantly seeking alignment in right thought, speech, and action.
  Stacy Wagner’s goal is to make yoga accessible to all from the dabbler to the devout. She lives in Boulder with her family where she is a Health Coach ( and a yoga teacher ( And she was featured recently at the Yoga Journal LIVE conference at Estes Park teaching Yoga for Runners.

Her yoga journey ignited with Bikram and blossomed with a 200-hour Ashtanga Vinyasa teacher training. Additionally, she has certifications in personal training (American College of Sports Medicine), nutrition (Shaw Academy), women’s yoga (Devi Yoga), and an additional 300-Hours in Advanced Yoga.
