About Giselle MariAn Advanced Certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher and E-RYT 500, Giselle’s introduction to yoga in the early 90s was a natural progression from her gymnastics/dance background, her passion for music and being raised by a bohemian flamenco dancer; all of which have influenced her style and approach to teaching and life.
Drawn to the Jivamukti Yoga method, she began her extensive study with her gurus Sharon Gannon and David Life who she joyfully assisted throughout the western U.S. for almost 5 years. She has had the honor to serve as a mentor on the Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training faculty and will be co-facilitating the 300-hr Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training in May of 2016. Studied in Yin yoga as well, she appreciates the potency of this practice and enjoys coalescing these two powerful methods to create a visceral balance positively influencing how we see ourselves, and the world.
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Giselle has brought her dynamic, spunky and grounded teaching to yoga studios, festivals and conferences around the globe. Her classes are infused with funky music, Sanskrit chanting and delicious hands on assists. Her style fuses ancient teachings with modern living allowing a depth of experience for all practitioners. She’s appeared on the cover of Yoga Journal and Yoga International Magazine as well as being featured in many of their articles. She is also featured in Kathryn Budig’s book “The Big Book of Yoga” and Linda Sparrowe’s “Yoga At Home”. She’s written for Origin & Mantra Magazine and Yoga Journal Magazine, is on the advisory board for The Art of Yoga Project and a teacher on YogaGlo. For more information visit her website.
