The Intermingling of Yin & Yang

In Chinese Medicine the Kidneys are the root of our life force and the key to health and longevity and it is the delicate balance of kidney yin & yang that creates vitality. This workshop uses intervals to recreate the ups and downs of life to help re-wire the nervous system & the stress response to look at how we nourish yin & yang in our practice besides just the poses.
You will experience the layers of that unfold as you look at creating depth through a refined awareness in your practice. This class will begin with a lecture on the impact that our practice has on our nervous system, how to maximize that and how it effects our internal organs. This class will slowly progress from the yang into the yin phase, cultivating a balance of yin & yang. By balancing the nervous system you will learn how to handle times of stress with clarity and poise. Open to all levels with some vinyasa experience. Come ready to learn how to maximize the potential of your practice with a balance of movement & stillness to feed you to your core.

Medicine for Your Hips

Revolutionize your practice by exploring how to use yoga as medicine for the hip joint. We'll look at the anatomy and function of the hip and dysfunction that can occur here, exploring how to heal problems in this area.
With an understanding of the anatomy, you can learn how to apply the practice in an adaptable and personalized approach at any level, style of yoga or body. Please bring something to take notes on.

Low Back Remedies

Low back pain is the most common reason for a trip to the doctor and can be helped or hurt in our yoga practice. Whether you personally struggle with back pain or work with students or patients that struggle with back pain this class will help you understand the anatomy and the use of a yoga practice to support it.
We will look at the different approaches to working with low back pain using an anatomical awareness to deepen the yoga practice. By understanding the anatomy you can see how different types of back pain need very different practices. This class will be part lecture and part interactive practice, great for beginners, those with low back pain & essential for teachers wanting to work one on one. Please bring a block & a strap & something to take notes on.
